A Stanley Bridge cottage gives you a waterfront place to return to after a Cavendish outing. The useful comparison is what happens before and after that outing: where everyone sleeps, whether the cottage welcomes your dog and how much time you want to spend on the deck.

PEI Best Cottages has four Stanley Bridge options overlooking New London Bay, ranging from a main-level suite for two to Sandhills Blue Cottage for five. Their policies differ. Check those before choosing a property for its location near Cavendish.

Build the day around one main visit

Green Gables Heritage Place offers the house associated with Anne of Green Gables, a visitor centre and trails. Check Parks Canada's current hours and activities for your dates. Leave room in the day to enjoy the visit rather than treating it as a quick stop between several attractions.

If you plan to spend part of the day at Cavendish Beach, look at the Parks Canada beach information before you leave. Facilities and supervision vary across the national park's beaches. Choose the beach around what your group needs, especially when travelling with children or someone who needs easier access.

Use your map to check the actual route from the cottage you book. A general area description cannot account for road conditions, stops or the time you choose to travel, so this guide does not promise a fixed driving time.

Compare the four cottage layouts

Sandhills Blue Cottage sleeps five across a king, double and single bed. It has two bedrooms, two bathrooms and a large deck, with a washer and dryer available for a longer stay. An optional bunkie can accommodate two more guests, but Lisa needs to confirm that addition separately.

Stanley Bridge Sandhills Cottage sleeps four with a queen and two singles, and its wraparound deck and large yard give the group outdoor space between outings. The optional SoftTub has a reset fee. Ask about it when requesting your dates.

For an adult-only trip, the Summer House main level sleeps two in one queen bed. The ground level sleeps four in a queen and double, with its own kitchen and patio beneath the upper deck. Both suites are pet free and part of the same quiet-zone house.

Look beyond the first waterfront photograph

Check the bedroom photographs against the number of people in your group. Two bedrooms can mean several different bed arrangements, and an adult-only suite will not suit a family trip with children. The family layout guide sets out those differences across the wider collection.

If you want to cook at the cottage in the evenings, inspect the kitchen and dining area in the full gallery. If outside space is a priority, compare the deck with the ground-level patio rather than assuming every waterfront stay has the same arrangement.

Ask about the dates before fixing the itinerary

Tell Lisa which Stanley Bridge cottage you prefer and how many guests are coming. Mention pets or an optional hot tub at the same time, because those details can change which stay fits. Use the enquiry page for confirmation before you build the rest of the trip around a particular cottage.
