For a three-day PEI north shore itinerary, choose one main outing each day and leave the rest flexible. You can group Cavendish, Darnley and New Glasgow visits around a cottage base in Stanley Bridge, Clinton or Darnley, then change the order for the weather.
This is a suggested arrangement for three full days, rather than a timed tour or a list of guaranteed openings. Check the operators for your travel dates and use your own map for routes. Arrival and departure days may need a shorter plan.
Day one: Cavendish and the national park
Make Green Gables Heritage Place the main visit if Anne of Green Gables is part of your interest in PEI. Allow time for the house and visitor centre, with a trail walk if the weather suits. Check the current hours and activities before setting out.
You could then add a beach visit if everyone still has the time and energy. Parks Canada's beach guide lists facilities across the national park, so choose a stop around your group's needs. A beach walk can also be enough without planning a swim.
For a Stanley Bridge stay, the Cavendish cottage-base guide helps connect that outing with the cottage layout you want. Keep the evening open for dinner at the cottage rather than automatically adding another attraction.
Day two: Darnley and a coast visit
Plan a Thunder Cove outing on the day whose conditions best suit a beach visit. Use the Darnley beach guide to prepare for the facilities and current access, and remember that older photographs of Teacup Rock show a formation that is no longer there.
If you want a second stop, consider the Anne of Green Gables Museum in Park Corner when the operator confirms it is open for your dates. It is a different place from Green Gables Heritage Place in Cavendish. Decide which interests you, rather than assuming two similarly named places offer the same visit.
Travellers staying at Wildflower can build a day around the Darnley setting and still leave time at the cottage. If the weather changes, move the coast outing and use a rainy-day alternative.
Day three: New Glasgow and an unhurried afternoon
The PEI Preserve Company in New Glasgow offers a retail shop and restaurant, with gardens by the River Clyde. Check the current arrangements for each part of the visit, particularly outside summer. A restaurant reservation and a shop opening are different things.
Leave the afternoon available for another coast visit, time with a book or preparing dinner in the cottage kitchen. You can decide that day. Keeping one open stretch helps if an earlier day's weather has changed the plan.
Adjust the route for your group
If you are travelling with a dog, check the pet guide before choosing beach or attraction stops. If someone needs easier access, check the specific site facilities rather than relying on a general description of the area. Both can change which outings fit.
Choose your cottage from the beds and policies as well as the route. Ask Lisa about your dates once you have a preferred base, and keep the itinerary flexible until the cottage and operator details are confirmed.
